Geological Context

Lead deposits in Zambia and neighboring regions are hosted in carbonate rocks, quartz veins, and volcanosedimentary belts. Mineralization is often stratabound and epigenetic, controlled by regional faulting and shear zones. Lead occurs mainly as galena, frequently associated with sphalerite and silver-bearing minerals.
