Bauxite
Origin
Guinea, Tanzania and India
Overview
Kresta Earth Resources Limited supplies premium quality Bauxite Ore with Al₂O₃ content ranging from 45%–52%. Our ore is widely used in aluminum production, refractory applications, abrasives, and cement industries, serving global markets with consistent quality and sustainable sourcing.
Key Features
- Al₂O₃ Content: 45%–52%
- SiO₂: Less than 6%
- Fe₂O₃: 8%–12%
- Form: Lumps and fines
- Moisture: Below 3%
Applications
- Primary raw material for aluminum smelting
- Refractory bricks and castables
- Abrasives (alumina-based)
- Cement, chemical, and metallurgical industries
Geological Context
Bauxite deposits are formed through lateritic weathering of aluminous rocks, particularly granites, basalts, and metamorphic sequences. Enrichment occurs through prolonged leaching in tropical climates, concentrating aluminum oxides and hydroxides.
Deposit Types:
- Lateritic bauxite caps over granitic and basaltic terrains
- Karst-type bauxites in limestone terrains
Host Rocks:
- Laterites and lateritic clays
- Weathered granite and gneiss
- Limestone (karst-infilled deposits)
Mineralogy
Major aluminum minerals include Gibbsite, Boehmite, and Diaspore, with gangue phases of kaolinite, hematite, and anatase.
Export Logistics
Bauxite ore is transported via road and rail to export hubs such as Beira, Dar es Salaam, and Durban. Shipment is available in bulk carriers, containers, or customized packaging to meet buyer requirements.
